Notes from the tutorial:

Use monitor that is capable of full AdobeRGB

Use whatever you have

Use screen calibrator and set screen to ~100cd/m2

Use a reference image (or blank paper) to adjust screen brightness

Use printer able to take A3+ or larger paper with 8 or more inks including multiple shades of black with different blacks for glossy and matt papers

Home A4 printer that uses 3 colours plus single black

Use ICM profile specific to your printer and paper

Let printer manage colour for that general paper type

Exactly match printed colour to the colours on your screen

Let the hardware and software do what they can

Enjoy your colour-correct print

Enjoy just how good it looks anyway!

  1. Microsoft test image - follow instructions on image
  2. White JPG image - adjust screen so that it matches the brightness of you photo paper under normal lighting conditions

Open link and right click on image and select Save Image.

  1. For photopaper, Ilford Smooth Gloss
  2. For matt, Ilford Smooth Cotton Rag
